when i’m in this room, i need to remember that i don’t have to justify my existence. when i’m in this room, i am allowed to take up space.

there’s no need to convince anyone that i’m worthy of attention or affirmation. no need to explain more than i want to. no room for my best behaviour, most polished presentation, anything that will make me feel less than. there is more than enough room for every person here to listen, be listened to; learn, be learned from; give, receive from.

when i’m in this room, i don’t have to prove anything.

i need to remember that i am already here.
